I had a question from a school district about materials for raised vegetable beds.  They asked whether concrete blocks (CMUs) are OK to use for raised beds with the  concern being due to a certain amount of toxic "fly ash" within the concrete itself.  Anyone heard of this or seen any data on this?

Thx

One column that seems to have a bit more scientific heft than others. http://www.boralna.com/flyash/PDF/News-4-12-Sustainable-Design-Fly-Ash-in-Concrete.pdf
