I maintain a data base of over 150 grants and foundations to help schools get gardens. During this time of COVID, there are a massive amount of grants that are being issued to make sure that the students are fed during the time off, also assuring that they will also get healthy snacks, summer food sources, just a raft of grants, sitting there waiting for applicaitons.
I would be glad to send anyone, of course, at no charge, to send you a list of the appropriate grants that will help you groups.

Dear friends,
It is really great that many funders are now considering to support school gardens in these challenging times. However, for Africa there are very few funders for small scale, meaningful initiatives.
USAID has funded in the past millions of dollars for community gardens in Ethiopia with expensive drip irrigation systems for schools that did not even have a water connection and that few years later were abandoned (see this report, pages 10, 29-30).

I am appealing to you to recommend me funders that work at human scale with real hard working people and have Ethiopia in their operations area. Also individual donations can be more valuable than any multimillion dollar funding feeding the aid industry.

I have set up a page on Patreon that transparently shows the support I receive as well as my activity and achievements.

Please have a look and recommend it further to your friends, if you believe in in food sovereignty and local food systems by local people. Any contribution, no matter how modest, will fuel my energy and get great impact. Africa can feed itself. One school at the time!

May God bless our gardens abundantly!

With great faith from Ethiopia

Hi Eskender-

You may want to check out the organization Seed Money at : https://seedmoney.org/ to see if this might be a good fit for you.  I know they work with garden programs in the United States and also internationally.
