Greetings,

Do you have examples of district or region-specific school garden guides that you can share? The School District Led Peer Learning Community is looking to gather examples of school garden guides that specifically share examples of region specific resources to create and sustain school gardens.

For example do you have a guide that lists local grantors or businesses or services that may support school gardens with products or donations; or do you list district contacts that can assist in school garden development.

Here are few district/regional garden guides we came across

LAUSD School Garden Guide lists garden types suitable in their area and provides a list of local collaborators and district departments

OSSE Washington DC's District Garden Pages list DC specific gardening, funding, programming and district protocol resources as well a many other ideas for creating and instructing in school gardens.

The School District of Palm Beach County has a comprehensive guide with region specific growing tips, lists of community and district partners, and other school district related tips and protocols. They also have detailed data dashboard outlining the gardens in their district.

Thanks,

Howdy, John!

One Cool Earth has a garden guide suited for the Central/South coast of California: https://www.onecoolearth.org/uploads/6/3/1/4/63140405/guide_to_a_successful_school_garden__8_.pdf

Other resources listed here, including lessons, funding guide (list of local funders and general fundraising how-to for gardens), videos, a Zero Waste How-To, and more: https://www.onecoolearth.org/educator-resources.html
