Hello School Garden Mentorship Community,
Reminder that our first workshop of 2024 will be this Tuesday, January 23rd from 3:30-4:30.
Our School Garden Mentors for this session are:
🌱 Matthew Reimer, McLeod School Farm to School Lead
🌱 Michelle Roberge, Farm to School Advocate
Michelle and Matthew jointly presented at our F2SBC Conference in Vancouver in 2023, where they shared the McLeod Farm to School story. They are now thrilled to share their insights on establishing a school garden culture through this Mentorship Series, drawing from their experience in supporting the growth of the McLeod Farm to School Program. Their key takeaway message is that building partnerships, exercising patience, and maintaining passion are essential for success—it takes time!
In this workshop, we will cover:
✔️ Building a garden committee with clear goals
✔️ Defining the roles of your team
✔️ Considering school district policies
✔️ Fostering community connections
See you there,
Tessa and Sonya
