Happy February (already)! We invite you to join us after school on February 13th for another School Garden Mentorship workshop that delves into what crops to grow and when to plant them! We have the pleasure of welcoming Robin Jenkins into our webinar as our mentor of the month. We will discuss how school gardens vary widely in their designs, and should be thoughtfully designed to align with how students will use them. In 'Designing Your School Garden and Crop Planning,' we'll cover key aspects of garden success. This includes selecting plants aligned with your garden's goals and mastering garden design elements such as location, bed shape, fencing, and more. We'll emphasize involving your class in the design process and exploring crop planning resources to synchronize harvests with the school calendar. Discussion Topics:

- How to select plants to meet your garden goals

 - Learn everything about garden design

- Tips to engage your class in the process

 - Explore crop planning resources

Join us in cultivating a vibrant school garden movement that extends across your school district.

Meet your School Garden Mentor of the month:

In 2017, Robin Jenkins coordinated the construction of the Salt Spring Elementary School Gardens and has been actively involved in facilitating activities and events ever since. Notably, Robin’s background in botany and biology led her to complete three school garden education certifications. She also organizes Sharing Circles across the Gulf Islands School District for school garden champions and continues to help fundraise and support these extraordinary efforts, in part, as a WildBC Facilitator with the Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation.

We are excited to see you there!
