Hello school garden community,

If you missed the workshop this week, the recording along with the slides and resources are now posted in the program library on the F2SBC website: https://farmtoschoolbc.ca/sgm-program-library/. The workshop started with an inspiring presentation from Farmer Brown about harvest traditions. He shared many great ideas and tips for engaging your class in cross-curricular, hands-on garden learning. Kaylin and I then discussed weaving harvest celebrations into school events in June, shared garden recipes and suggested ideas for building resiliency into your garden to support the garden through staff turnover.

If you missed the workshop you also missed some great vegetable haiku poems posted in the chat bar! Here is a taster -

Reminder, we have our June School Garden Mentorship Discussion Group next Thursday, June 15th from 3:30-4:30. This is an informal place to collaborate on challenges, share successes, mentor each other and build community. The discussion topics this month are summer maintenance, volunteer coordination and June harvest and celebrations.  Sign up here for the discussion group!

Happy June days to you all,

Tessa
