The effort to create the most open, scholarly, and current encyclopedia of computational neuroscience is now underway.

We want to make the best information available to all in a common resource -- we believe that if humanity is all "on the same page" scientifically, it might be possible to accelerate research and human progress.

To see a list of existing Scholarpedia articles on in computational neuroscience, visit: http://www.scholarpedia.org/article/Category:Computational_Neuroscience

... you may notice that some of the articles listed in the category are shown in grey rather than blue. The ones in grey have been started and not yet been completed, and they too are eligible to participate in the competition. You may consider contacting the authors of an in-progress article to inquire with them as to whether they would be amenable to taking you on as a co-author.

Also, if you haven't done so already, there's a 60 second survey we'd love for you to fill out:

Please let us know (via this mailing list or via email to leo.tr...@scholarpedia.org) if you have any comments or questions!

Hi,

Under "Official Contest Rules"

It says,

"Winning criteria:
  1. The eligible article with the most votes at time of publication will be named the winner."

Is this a typo? Does it mean the most votes at the time the contest is over (I.e., the end of January?). I thought you couldn't even receive "+1s" until the article was published?

Thanks for this clarification,

Hi,

Yes, you're right! That rule can't make sense, since the articles must be published before they can start receiving votes. It's not "time of publication" but instead "time of contest end".

Thanks for noticing -- the rules had been looked at by many eyes, but clearly fresher ones were needed!
