Hi All,

I'd love to have a crack at "neuromorphic engineering", this being my discipline. The thing is, it's already an unpublished work in progress but it's clearly been abandoned:

So 2 questions:

1) Is it possible to take over the authorship of an article?
2) Would this be considered part of computational nueroscience and therefore qualify for this competition? Who decides?

Cheers
Sim

Awesome!

Neuromorphic engineering definitely counts as a computational
neuroscience article.

As for adopting it -- we would just ask that you first contact the
author and politely inquire as to his intentions and timeline. I have
sent you his email address. He may be interested in collaborating, but
it's likely that he will be willing to have you author it.

Please feel free to contact me (or the listserv) with any further
questions. I'm happy to help (indeed, for technical reasons you might
need it) with coordinating any hand-over.

Hi Leo,

Same for "brain-computer interface", which links to "brain-machine interface". Do you know if someone is planning to attempt the prize with this article?

Thanks much!
Kind regards,

Etienne

Hi Etienne,

You are the first one to contact us regarding this article -- this is
an important entry and likely to be quite popular! You are definitely
welcome to take a stab at it. Please be sure attempt to contact the
old author (Miguel A. L. Nicolelis) to notify him of your intentions.
