We are excited to announce that the completely redesigned Scholarometer is finally ready!

The new version works with Google Scholar IDs, so authors must have a Google Scholar profile to be annotated & evaluated. The browser extension is integrated into Google Scholar profile pages. This design choice will resolve many issues, including data access and ambiguous author names. But some records based on the old, query based interface are no longer available and as a result you may notice some changes in impact metrics until you re-query an author via the new extension.

We also have a new network exploration interface, a faster and modern API (with JSON output), and a new widget to incorporate impact analysis into your web pages.

Check out the new website & install the new browser extension (for Chrome or Firefox) at https://scholarometer.indiana.edu/ --- and help spread the word!

Special thanks to the new Scholarometer Team members, Filipi N. Silva and Wen Chen, who developed the new version.

Just been trying this. Firefox, Chrome, two different computers. The extension appears in the menu bar at the top, but nothing appears on a google scholar page. What am I missing?

Thanks, Peter

The Scholarometer panel should appear in the top-right corner when you navigate to a Google Scholar profile page. If it does not, try to reload the page (it might be cached). Let us know if it does not appear after that.

Here is a screenshot of what it should look like when it appears:

Nope. Restarted the browser; not yet tried rebooting the machine, but, nothing.

It would be helpful if you could let us know if the extension panel
appears on a Google Scholar profile page after you clear the browser
cache; restarting the browser or rebooting the machine will not clear
the browser cache. (If you know how to "force reload" a page or
disable the cache for a page, that would work as well.)

If clearing the cache doesn't work, then it would help us to know more
about your system: OS, browser version, whether you have other
extensions installed, and whether you are running in incognito mode.
Other extensions (eg, ad blockers) may interfere, so you could try
disabling them. The extensions is also not loaded in incognito mode.
It is difficult for us to help you without details.

PS -- One more thing. We already mentioned you should be on a Google
Scholar profile page to see the Scholarometer panel. Could you please
send us the URL of the profile page you are at? And if you have tried
multiple profile pages, please send us those URLs. That may be
helpful.

Thanks,

That's on Einstein's page. Chrome version 72.0.3626.121 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Windows 7. Not private mode. Didn't work on Firefox either, or on either browser under windows 10
Extensions
