Several of my papers, listed under my user profile, have been cited by
other authors in IEEE xplore but such citations are not included under
those papers in google scholar. There are also citations in published
text books that are missing. How can such citations be included on
google scholar?

Dear Sujit,

Thank you for your note. If the missing citations are not returned by
Google Scholar, then there is nothing we can do. Scholarometer uses GS
as its source. There may be many reasons why papers or citations are
not returned by GS, and those are addressed by the Google Scholar
documentation.

If instead you note that there are papers returned by GS that are
missing in the results from Scholarometer, then this may be a problem
with our system, and it would greatly help if you could send us
specifics -- exact query you submit and details of the missing papers.

Thanks,
The Scholarometer Team

Google Scholar has recently changed its format, and as a result, tools
that rely on Google Scholar (such as Scholarometer) are currently not
working properly. We are aware of this issue and working on a fix. It
may take a while given our limited resources. We will release an
update as soon as possible.

Thanks,
-Fil & Scholarometer Team

Hi Fil

I realize that the thread has been opened back in March, and that you stated that you at GS were working on a fix for tools such as Scholarometer. So, maybe this is about getting a sense if that has already happened? In my concrete case, I find that for one of my publications citation counts are too low, eg, most notably, a recent review in a reasonably well-known journal covering my work is not listed.

Thanks for letting me know what the problem here could be, and how to send you specifics of the missing citations.

Cheers

Dear Séb,

Yes, we released a new version 3.1 of the Scholarometer extension some
time ago, which addressed the issue with the new Google Scholar
format. The release was announced on this list on May 31, 2013.

Please note that Scholarometer relies on Google Scholar but is not
affiliated with GS nor has any control of it. We simply receive GS
data from your browser (from you) and parse them. If the missing
citations you mention are missing from GS, there is nothing we can do
at this time. If instead there are citations in GS that Scholarometer
is not correctly parsing, then let us know and we will look into that.

Thanks,
Scholarometer Team

Dear Fil & colleagues.

Thanks a lot for getting back to me. Google Scholar returns 80 citations for the articles I included in ResearchGate, while the latter only listed 36 as of yesterday.

What I did was including many of the missing citations by hand. Several authors have already confirmed to have cited my work in their articles. Being able to add citations manually with granted permission by citing authors definitely IS A BIG PLUS compared to GS, thanks for this opportunity!

Now comes the question: how exactly does ResearchGate access GS? For example: I registered on my wife's computer, but frequently access my profile from my own Mac, and on the same browser I also usually look up my personal GS page. So does RG rely on the original computer or does it hook up with GS from anywhere on a regular basis?

So, the bottom line is, I only sHow could you help me, and what do you need fir this

Best wishes

Hello Fil and Colleagues,

Good afternoon. Hope fine and doing well.

One of my papers (Sustainable development strategies and challenges for the promotion of integrated pest management program in Bangladesh Agriculture published in the journal of American-Eurasian Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Volume 13, Issue 7, Pages: 988-995), has been cited in another article (Integrated pest management farming in Bangladesh: present scenario and future prospect) published in Journal of Agricultural Technology, 2013 Vol. 9 No. 3 pp. 515-527, and is listed in my GS. However, the citation has not been counted. How can such citation be included on google scholar? Your kind support would be highly appreciated.

Hi and good day

Mr. Fil,

Please I have one of my papers (Numerical Study of Turbulent Heat Transfer in Separated Flow: Review) published in the International Review of Mechanical Engineering (IREME), Volume 7, issue 2, page 337-349, 2013, has been cited in another article (Numerical study of the effect of interrupted fins on the effectiveness of cross-flow heat exchanger) published in International Review of Mechanical Engineering Volume 7, Issue 6, September 2013, Pages 1080-1086,  also I have second of my papers (An experimental study of heat transfer to turbulent separation fluid flow in an annular passageInternational Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, volume 45,issue 4, page 766-773, 2011) has been cited in another article ( Rapid Cooling Performance Evaluation of a ZrCo bed for a Hydrogen Isotope Storage) published in Hydrogen and New Energy Society; VOL.24; NO.2; PAGE.128-135; (2013) language  Korea, but my problem is that the citation has not been counted in Google scholar, I will appreciate your efforts to help us for solving this problem

Dear H. Togun,

Scholarometer uses Google Scholar as its data source. If the missing citations are not returned by Google Scholar, then there is nothing we can do. It might be addressed in Google Scholar documentation, why papers or citations are not returned in search results.

Thanks
Scholarometer team

Hello,

Google scholar was showing 14 citation to on of my paper and it disappeared recently. I don't know why? I have checked citation to the same article in SCOPUS and it still shows around 16. Due to this change in scholar, my h-index also reduced by one. how to fix this.

Thanks
Rajesh

Some of my citations disappeared recently and my h-index went down, so
I googled around a bit and found this to be widely reported. So Google
Scholar must have made some recent changes to its algorithms to parse
citations. As far as I can tell the new algorithms are more accurate.
Although some citation counts went down, several recent publications
of mine that were missing or incorrectly parsed, got corrected.

Hello,

I don't understand why the citation numbers are not being automatically updated. I have found several scholarly books/articles that cite my work [found on google of all places] in the last several months and yet my citation number has remained unchanged since several months ago. Would  you please inform me about what is going on?

Thanks. S

Please read the FAQ: http://scholarometer.indiana.edu/faqs.html#missing-citation

We have no control on Google Scholar.

I have the problem with scholarometer as it doesn’t count the citations visible in Google Scholar. Here are the examples of missing citations:
