王中林教授是佐治亚理工学院材料科学与工程Hightower杰出讲座教授, 纳米研究中心主任. 美国科学促进会Fellow. 中国科学院外籍院士. 欧洲科学院院士. 王教授多次荣获重要奖项, 他是在纳米和材料科学领域被最广泛引用的世界前五位学者之一. 他的著作详见http://www.nanoscience.gatech.edu/. 王中林现任佐治亚理工学院和北京大学联合办学材料系美方首席代表和中国科学院北京纳米能源与系统研究所所长, 曾任武汉光电国家实验室（筹）海外主任和国家纳米科学中心海外主任。王教授是中国首批国家自然科学基金会海外优秀青年科学家基金,中国科学院海外杰出学者基金获得者。
