Mr. McCallie is the Executive Director of the Robert L & Kathrina H Maclellan Foundation, Inc.. He practiced law in Chattanooga for 20 years and was a partner in his law firm.   In 1989 he left the practice of law to work full time with The Maclellan Foundation, Inc.  The Foundation is a private, grant-making foundation giving in the local, national, and international arenas.  It has assets of over $300 million.  Mr. McCallie has served as Executive Director.  Mr. McCallie has served on the boards of several local and national organizations.  He is a member of the Rotary Club of Chattanooga and the First Presbyterian Church.

 Mr. McCallie has traveled in more than 40 countries.  He has been in China approximately 15 times.  In 2000, Mr. McCallie hosted the leaders of China Charity Federation to study the philanthropy in the US.  Since 2003, Mr. McCallie and the Foundation worked with the China NPO Network on producing the first standards and training against those standards in the areas of accountability, leadership, governance and fundraising for charities in China.  Charities of all sizes from Government Organized NGOs to small indigenous organizations from the whole China benefited from the training.

 Mr. McCallie is married to Elizabeth Frazier and they have two married adult daughters.
