Virtual Open House

The University of California Irvine, Department of Education, and UCI
Extension announce their first Virtual Open House on February 4,
1999.
Mark your calendar for 2/4/99 from 6 to 8pm Pacific Standard Time
(1800 * 2000 hrs.) to test drive our two online courses for
beginning through veteran teachers and for anyone concerned about our
nation's public schools. Feel free to invite a friend or your entire
department * just cluster around the computer on February 4.
On February 4, point your browser to http://www.gse.uci.edu/voh. From
that site, you can
* Join a chat room conversation about the nature
and benefits of online education and professional development
* Send specific questions to our education experts
* Take a virtual tour of our award-winning online classes
* Register for the classes
You will be able to take a complete tour of these two
state-of-the-art, multi-media online classes. You can view online
interactive lectures, visit an array of outstanding Web links, and
view exceptional videoclips-- using QuickTime 3.0 -- to examine
central questions in K-12 education (videoclips courtesy of the Orange
County Department of Education and McGraw-Hill Higher Education).
In addition, to welcome you to our virtual house, we will hold a
random drawing among the visitors on February 4 and give away ten
copies of CyberEducator (McGraw-Hill).

Learning Theories and Classroom Practices Online
This course gives you an up-to-date overview of learning theories and
educational psychology. The next session is January 4 * March 19,
