We are now entering into the next millennium at the end of this year, I
would like to motivate you to indulge into the activities of changing
education with the help of technology and try to converge to some useful
decisions on Millennium EdTech Project at http://millennium.aed.org and
take part in the second round of the discussions.
Below are some questions to ponder:--
* Does educational technology work? How do we assess effectiveness of
educational technology, and with what results?
* What is the role of technology in teacher professional development?
What should it be? Does technology isolate or facilitate teacher
collegiality?
* Will distance learning technologies strengthen or threaten
higher education?
The Academy for Educational Development is pleased to announce a new
round of engaging discussion topics on its two-year moderated forum, the
Millennium Project. Visit http://millennium.aed.org to meet our new guest
experts including Margaret Honey, of the Center for Children and
Technology in New York, Kathleen Fulton from the University of Maryland,
Jacqueline Hess at the National Demonstration Laboratory, and Thomas
Reeves, from the University of Georgia.
Each of our experts will be participating in the discussion boards this
round, in which we invite your input on critical and current questions
covering topics such as technology efficacy, teacher professional
development, and distance learning in higher education. To learn more
about each topic, you might:
* read the guest experts' opinion,
* read a broad introduction to the topic,
* choose a related online article from annotated listings.
We look forward to seeing you back on the site for this new and exciting
round of topics!
