Dear Arcus owners/enthusiasts,

We have encountered a not so tiny problem on our Arcus T: one airbrake does not retract completely flush at one end.
We can push on the cover, it appears to be elastically mounted and can go down and made flush; same thing when the wing is loaded it appears to be flush again with the edges of its housing on the suction side.
It was definitely not like that a few weeks/months ago.
Is the solution to be found in the tension of the springs in the connections between the airbrake itself (red frame) and the cover?

Thanks in advance!

Philippe

So, when the airbrakes are locked, one end of the airbrake cap is not pulled down flush.

If memory serves, there is a row of spring loaded connections from the airbrake mechanism to the spoiler cap.   I would inspect and compare both sides to see if perhaps a nut/spring came off on that side.

It's also possible the bolt came off entirely.   I have a vague memory of the springs, but I couldn't find a picture of mine to see exactly how this is configured.

There is also the possibility of a part of the airbrake mechanism coming loose, so again, carefully compare both sides.   Hopefully it's just a spring/nut that can be replaced without much cost.
