Hi all,

I’m experiencing an issue on my Arcus M 2.0 and would appreciate any input from the group.

Over the last three engine starts, I’ve consistently seen an “Air Pressure Sensor error” appearing right at the moment of engine start. The error disappears again as soon as the engine is running.

Details:

  • Aircraft: Schempp-Hirth Arcus M 2.0
  • Occurrence: Last 3 engine starts
  • Timing: Error appears during start sequence, disappears immediately after engine is running
  • No other obvious symptoms observed

Has anyone experienced something similar?
Any ideas on possible causes or things to check (sensor, wiring, ECU behavior, voltage drop during start, etc.)?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Best regards,

Hi,
No observed yet on Arcus M1.0.
Air pressure sensor is in the ECU ( Triject Box ,left hand side behind lining engine bay).
Even if it disappears, the air pressure parameter is required for engine adjustment as function of altitude, therefore rectification is due. If faulty your engine performance is affected !
You can check parameter is alive  with serial Adapter cable connected to engine DB 9 socket on the top/RH of rear seat and triject soft.

One possibility is that the battery voltage is dropping just enough so that the signal from the sensor causes an error.
If your engine battery is several years old it might be worth buying a new one and seeing if that fixes the problem.
The battery voltage would be lowest during engine start and would then recover once the starter is off and the generator is supplying voltage to charge the battery.
Just a thought.
