Recently we have come across a 'throttle valve malfunction' warning on the ILEC.  The engine operates fine. Anyone an idea what this may cause and where to look?

Many thanks Kees

Throttle valve?  That sounds like the potentiometer at the front of the shaft that goes through the throttle bodies.  I recall doing the A/D firmware upgrade on the Trijekt fuel injection computer that there was a program you could use to monitor the computer.  I would plug a laptop into the serial port (it's by the wing tanks in the fuselage).  The monitoring software might let you watch the sensor inputs in real time.

If the Trijekt doesn't know the throttle position, it would likely assume full throttle and apply full fuel.  Which would explain the warning on the ilec, since the ilec is in communication with the Trijekt.

It leads as Chester assumed to the throttle valve sensor. I had an issue with the wiring going to the sensor. The trijekt engine monitoring soft is a good option for the troubleshooting. As well you can check the three wires going to the sensor for correct voltage (one is ground, one is 5V supply and the third is the return line 0-5V as function of the valve position. In my case it turned out that one of the pins was not correctly engaged in the plastic housing. Check as well the next connector downstream from the sensor.
Best regards

Indeed, it turned out to be a faulty potentiometer. Interestingly, there are 2 potentiometers installed. By swtiching the wires in the grey connector, one can use the other potentiometer.
