Hi all,
My newly acquired glider has for some reason or another no 2 sets of headset jacks but instead, only 2 audio jacks, with no option to talk by way of intercom from one pilot to the other with headsets and headset mikes.
Am in a long discussion with TRIG and stumble upon some technical challenges whereby specifically the TRIG radio seems different from Becker or TQ (KRT2). TRIG is more meant for powered aircraft with continous use of headsets and not offer out of the box option to either use swan neck mikes or headset mikes/audio.
Advice is to use a DPDT 6 pin multi-switch, ON/ON, to get this functionality working properly, meaning:
- with intercom on/selected, headset audio and mikes working, cockpit speaker off;
- with intercom off, headset audio and mikes off, swan neck mikes working, loudspeaker in cockpit on.
This should also prevent engine noise to enter the swan neck mikes while intercom is switched on (as by definition, then VOX/speach determines if the headset mikes are opened or not).
Is there anyone who has succeeded in configuring the TRIG set up in a two seat self launch motorglider? A connection scheme would be much appreciated.
Please also advise if you have dynamic or electret swan neck mikes in use and if you have configured these 'parallel' or not?
Many thanks!
