Converting the wheel brake from Behringer to Tost

Dear Arcus owners/enthusiasts,

has anyone ever converted the Arcus wheel brake? That is, converted it from Behringer to the current Tost system? If so, is it worth the effort and investment, or does the braking performance remain as poor as with the Behringer brake?

Hi Stefan

I bought my Arcus M in 2013 equipped with the Tost wheel and brake. Brake shoes Cleveland.

I have replaced the brake linings once in 2024.

My brakes are very effective. I try to brake only at lower speed, there are risks that the disc will crack if using the brakes right from touchdown at all landings.

Hi Stefan,

We have had the conversion (Behringer to Town) done last year on our Arcus T.

Double master cylinders are a plus ( feeling, ease of maintenance) for the Tost System.

Berhringer wheel was really complicated too.

We just have to be careful with « sticktion »on the last meter or so; the brakes stick at super low speed and and lift the tail. One quickly learns that though. I guess it improved with a run in of the brake pays and disks.
