Postponing the upcoming meeting

Hello WG2 members,

Writing for myself and for Peter McGoron, who has been acting chair of
the WG2 during the past months:

In light of the Steering Committee's message of this morning, we move to
postpone the meeting that was scheduled for July 28th. Regular meetings
should get back on track as soon as possible, but we believe we need
time to regroup.

As mentioned in my response to the SC, I would like to request that the meeting take place at the planned date and time to discuss the situation.

In deference to the SC’s decision, the meeting should be chaired by one of the acting chairs and not by me, but I ask that the topic should be the chairship, what has happened to provoke the SC’s decision, and how we move forward.

I think we should get confirmation that Alaric and Marc can attend. If
everyone in the WG can attend I am OK with it. I wanted to postpone
discussion and formal votes on technical issues until there is a proper
chair, but for this discussion I am OK with it.

I can be acting chair, although it would be good for you to propose a
more concrete agenda of what to talk about.

I would also like to try to get the entire Working Group together for
this kind of discussion. If that's not possible on the 28th, I would
again request postponement.

Also, neither Jani Juhani Sinervo or Sudarshan S Chawathe (chaw)
responded to the poll, so we should reach out to them too to see if they
can make it, or if another day works better.

Arthur also said he couldn't attend at that time. Although given that he
is a member of the SSC, he might not want to attend and he might not
want to speak about the matter without consulting the rest of the SSC.

I can make it. (Sorry I've also been incommunicado lately - I've now had
TWO family funerals, inheritance paperwork from one of them, a new
project at the day job that's had me travelling into London a lot, and a
weighty tax return to complete for an organisation I volunteer as the
treasurer for)

I'm sorry for the delay in my response. I got stuck in analysis
paralysis due to an unusually chaotic schedule. At this point, I'm going
