I'm a firm believer in doing whatever you want to do to make your gaming more fun. So if that includes cheating, then go for it. But if you're stuck and you don't want to cheat, if you can't get certain codes to work, or if you just want to explore all your options before resorting to cheating, here are some ideas.
GAME CONTROLS & STRATEGY: If you're a new raider, or if you just want to fine-tune your playing skills, check out my Controls and Strategy pages. The first links to printable pages for each game listing all Lara's moves, how to use the different vehicles, and how to navigate the in-game menus. The strategy page goes a little further, with info on finessing moves, choosing the right weapon for the job, conserving health and ammo, and other helpful tips.
Some of the info there is pretty obvious, but there are a few tricks unique to this game. For example, the strategy section on setting up jumps in Tomb Raiders 1-5 can save you hours of frustration, since jumping works differently in TR than in any other action game.
USEFUL BUGS: Some glitches can be good. The TR series includes a few that allow you to get Lara into places she wouldn't be able to reach otherwise, conserve ammo and even save Lara's life. Check out my Useful Bugs pages for details.
FLIGHT PATCHES: Several of the games have unofficial flight patches for the PC versions. These let you fly Lara out of a bad spot or into a better one. The Downloads pages for each game have more info.
SAVE FILES & SAVEGAME EDITORS: These can be a godsend if you saved your game in a bad spot, run out of health packs or flares, or just have to have a certain weapon a few levels early. Savegame editors, save files and instructions can be found on my savegame pages. There are Windows PC saves for every game, Macintosh saves for most, Nintendo Wii saves for the available games, plus PlayStation and PSP saves for some games.

ok, I know that the gameplay is totally different in TRA as in Legend, which is great, I love the graphics and the more 'realistic approach' BUT, I really need big guns when i go in there, and I miss not being able to cheat with the 'weapon cheat' as i've used in all the games (am not ashamed to admit that) - for example, the T-Rex fight in the original game is a walk in the park compared to this one - I don't wanna spend half an hour trying to kill a godamn prehistoric monster when i could be exploring tombs - i always used the cheat in the original and the T-Rex died after a couple of gunshots - now you have to run around like a complete maniac trying to do the adreniline dodge (phhhh) it just makes the gameplay slightly frustrating imo and I just want to move on - please give me a cheat so I can - lol!
I'm right there with you. Trying to do the adreniline dodge on the keyboard is a pain.I only have two hands and one is on the mouse. The other,I have to stretch my pinky on one side and use my thumb on the other. I should get a gamepad just for the combat scenes.
As for cheats, considering I still haven't really played the first 5 games without them (lol, I got too scared to early, so now I can't play the original style of games), I do miss them, but in exchange, I can play these games because they're different (not perfect, but different).

In total there are 9 Challenge Tombs in the main campaign and completing them ALL will unlock the 'Tomb Raider' Trophy. None of the Challenge Tombs are missable and each of them can be done after the story in free-roam. No special gadget is required for any of them and they can be attempted as soon as you reach their respective area through story progression. Your objective is to reach the stele (small statue) at the end of the tombs. Each of the Challenge Tombs unlocks a new skill, getting them ALL in one category will unlock the 'Specialized' trophy.
To solve the final part of the puzzle in the dream sequence where young Lara breaks into her own house you have to go back to the globe and move it away from the correct co-ordinates in order to make the ladder retract and free the White Queen.
If you pick up the skill Viper's Snare you will have the ability to boobytrap bodies by setting an explosive charge on a downed enemy so that whenever his comrade approaches it will blow up killing them and give you a stealth kill.
The Explorer Backpacks reveal the location of ALL Crypts, Treasure Chests, and Survival Caches on the map. This makes finding the backbacks a priority as it will save you time having to look for the collectibles whereabouts.
A headshot is the best way to kill smaller animals and humans but with some of the larger animals you will bring them down quicker if you shoot them in their heart. If you don't have the perk that shows you the animals beating heart you can always guess it's whereabouts.
It is beneficial to do side missions whenever they are available as they will give you plenty of useful rewards and will allow you to get better progression stats and extra experience which you can use to level yourself up.
