...When difficulties arise in the chinuch of a child – for example, in the case of a child who has an overabundance of energy and acts wildly – one should not be intimidated or alarmed about this. On the contrary, this zerizus (eagerness) [of the child] and energy should be channeled in a good direction, טוב לשמים (“good for the Heavens,” i.e., in his relationship with Hashem) – enabling the child to increase in energy and enthusiasm for Torah study and fulfillment of mitzvos, and טוב לבריות (“good for the creations”) – enabling him to increase in his energy and enthusiasm for bestowing goodness upon his peers.
