Our close-combat infantry is available in three different types. Like many steppe peoples moving into Roman territory, we come across, receive, and arm many of the escaped slaves across the Empire, calling them Runaway Slave Spearmen. However, the long name does not help them one bit even in simple tasks like holding a line, because they cannot even stand in formation, for the love of God! Apart from this rabble I now regret speaking of, we do have real warriors like the trusty Gothic Spearmen and the staunch Gothic Warriors. The first can hold against most kinds of medium cavalry thrown at you, while the second are reliable and steady swordsmen who make up for their lack of discipline with individual bravery.

End of the day it doesnt make sense for a Lord/Hero to be on the same size base as rank and file troops. He should stand out and reflect his status via a larger base. It also slightly helps with the mark of chaos/command ability wholly within 12" aura and lets face it; slaves can use all the assistance available.

What most of us did was explain the polytheistic aspects away by saying that the various "gods" in the game are just different aspects of the One God. Another similar approach was to describe the gods as servants of the One God something like saints in the Roman Catholic church. If you are playing Forgotten Realms then you can point to Ao as this higher power. I have not played any of the other current realms so I don't know what they have in this role. Mechanically nothing changes but making a semantic change in the label was generally enough to allay worries. A person either wants to play and will find a way to rationalize away their concerns or they will decide the game is "evil" and they will go away on their own.

I have tried playing for, with, and GMing for that player in FATE 2.0 as well as a variety of homebrew systems and that often went fine. For example, in one of their homebrew systems that is fairly similar to a standard medieval fantasy world there are lots of people that look like they have magic powers but actually it's nanites and 'bio energy', which are okay because it's not magic. The characters think they live in generic medieval fantasy land but actually they live on the inside of a giant cylindrical space station as slaves / test subjects for the scientists who live inside the station and secretly observe things with advanced technology and are studying 'bio energy upgrades' and also presumably nanites and pharmaceuticals.

But the humans were all dead, killed when the Fourth Sun fell in a torrent of rain. And the dead were far away, hidden deep in Mictlan, the Land of the Dead. Mictlantecuhtli and Mictlancihuatl, the Lord and Lady of that cold, dark, silent realm, now kept their bones as treasures. Without the bones, there could be no more humans.

Charlize Theron delivers a captivating, challenging performance as Furiosa, arguably her best since Monster, as she barrels across the desert in a souped-up war rig to carry five angelic, badass women to a search for hope. Those women each embody their own strength and grace, overcoming fear and internalized misogyny to create a vision for a new life. Instead of forming a chorus of interchangeable former sex slaves, they are five women with their own goals, struggles and connections to each other and other characters. I want to watch the movie again and focus only on their experiences with and reactions to the horror unfolding around them, because there is immense texture within their stories.

Raised in a realm where humans are no better than slaves, Rie Lhethannien has struggled for decades to earn a meager post in the High Court messenger service. Even training as an elite fighter isn't enough to earn the respect she craves. Scorned by the high elves who rely on her loyalty, Rie's closest allies are the fierce carnivorous pixies who travel by her side.

When she's attacked on a routine delivery by assassins from the enemy Shadow Realm, Rie's martial prowess keeps her alive...and frames her as a traitor. Facing execution at the hand of an unmerciful high elf king, Rie must forsake her oaths and flee into enemy lands to prove her innocence. The secrets she uncovers may threaten more than her honor or even her life...for war is looming in the nine faerie realms.

The most important duty of a leader is the defence of the realm, and Alfred used the relatively quiet years after Edington for military reorganisation. His forces had been based on local levies or fyrds, militia led by the ealdormen; these took time to organise and march to the place of attack, by which time the raiders had often slaughtered, plundered and departed. Alfred created a national, centrally directed force supported by taxation; he also established a network of fortified burghs across his territories, set 30 miles apart and garrisoned for rapid response. Towns grew up within and around the burghs, which encouraged trade and the growth of an urban culture and a middle class. He also reminted a dependable coinage.

When Lin Ming returned to the lower realms, he brought a new body for Demonshine. The body he brought was a Three-eyed Demon Wolf , which was far superior than Demonshine's past body. Such a body not only is as hard as divine iron, but it also possesses a third eye called the daevic heaven eye.

In the cruel kingdoms north of the Viraxian Empire, a barbarian seeks treasure - and vengeance! Having escaped the clutches of the Slaver King, he has vowed to pillage the wealth of the kingdom ... then bring it to its knees. YOU are this barbarian. Weakened by your ordeal as a slave, wandering an unfamiliar realm filled with danger, you must use cunning, savagery, and something approximating English syntax to regain thy might, rally an army of friends to your cause, do repeated business with a Delicate Doxy, and do deadly violence unto the Slaver King!

Two days after Jane is born the dead begin to rise on the battlefields of the Civil War. The two sides come to an uneasy agreement because, well, duh, there are more pressing concerns, like their former war buddies wanting to snack on their thigh bones. Because the US government has always been comprised of the most balanced and well-adjusted people, they find an easy solution to the issue and THE END. Hahaha, just kidding. The brilliant ideas they come up with are massive walls around their cities (*cough*) and creating finishing schools for former young slaves and Native American children so they can learn to fight the Shamblers and be Attendants to defenseless, rich, white women.

Female Slaves' RevengeOverview: When the slaves revolt and seize an African nation from the grip of their white masters, a group of female slave women put their cruel master on trial by fulfilling his ninety-minute bondage fantasy.

However great his physical strength, however, he cannot escape his fate, and we in the audience know this. I’m sure that most people watching the film either consciously or unconsciously recognized that they were watching a (primordial, savage, and strange) rendition of Hamlet. Or, to be more precise, a visualization of the myths that inspired Shakespeare to write his very famous play about the Danish prince. What’s more, they would no doubt have found themselves drawing comparisons between the narrative of The Northman and Ridley Scott’s Gladiator, which similarly focused on a man of good birth who enters into the realm of the abject in order to become the agent of justice and vengeance. Unlike Gladiator, however, The Northman doesn’t seem particularly optimistic about the future; in fact, it hardly seems to exist at all. There is no beyond for Amleth; there is only his duty and his fate. It’s a very premodern way of looking at heroism, and arguably this is one of the film’s greatest strengths.

Black Panther (Shaft by any other name) and Widows are the gourmet mashups of the blaxploitation and femmesploitation genres, attempting to elevate both to a literary realm without sacrificing the street-cred ingredients that made Shaft et al. viscerally exciting, culturally uplifting and politically relevant. Finally, the genre gets some art house love.
