We are excited to announce our upcoming online course: Interactive Maps with R, taking place on 13–14 May. This course is designed to help you turn spatial data into engaging, interactive maps that can be explored, shared, and published online.

Over two days, you will learn how to import and prepare spatial data, create interactive maps with multiple layers, pop-up labels, and customizable backgrounds, and add advanced features such as zoom controls, clustering, inset maps, and even charts and flow visualizations. The course emphasizes hands-on exercises using R and popular open-source packages like leaflet and mapview, giving you practical skills to apply to your own data.

 

The course is aimed at students, researchers, and practitioners with basic experience in R and spatial data who want to communicate and explore spatial information more effectively. All participants will receive annotated R scripts and datasets to follow along, and you will have the opportunity to create your own interactive maps during the sessions.
