Spam on list; apologies!

Hi all,

You might have noticed that SCGIS-DC received some spam messages earlier this evening. Unfortunately, it is getting harder to distinguish between bots and real people who write summaries when requesting to join our community and I accidentally approved them. I have now banned and removed those bots and deleted the messages from our Google Group archive. I'll be more cognizant of this issue and will look into some solutions to protect this group from any further spam in the future.

Also, just a reminder that anyone in our SCGIS-DC community can post to this list. Thanks to a few folks who have been posting more recently to share about local events of interest-- I really encourage it!

Finally, I'm working on getting together our next meetup, hopefully to be scheduled for later this month. More details and a Save the Date coming soon!
