Transitioning SCGIS-DC to new leadership!

Hello SCGIS-DC!

After 25 wonderful years in DC, I will be relocating to Bellingham, Washington in late May.  As some of you know, my husband, Demian (who previously managed this group), has started a new role as GIS Manager for the City of Bellingham. I will continue working in my current position remotely. While it’s difficult to leave our friends and community here, we’re also very excited to begin this next chapter!

Thanks to their generous volunteer spirit, Abigail Pendry, Vivian Griffey, and Maria Zubkova have stepped up to lead SCGIS-DC moving forward. I’m very grateful for their willingness to carry the chapter ahead.

Being part of the SCGIS-DC community for the past 25 years has meant so much to me. I will take with me many wonderful memories of our networking meetups and happy hours. Thank you for being part of our community of dedicated conservation GIS practitioners and for continuing to show up and support one another-- it wouldn’t be the same without you!

I will be back in DC from time to time and hope to attend future events. I look forward to seeing the chapter continue to thrive and evolve, and to reconnecting with many of you when possible.
