Hi SCGIS-ers, next week's got a whole lot going on in the DC area!

For starters, have you registered for FedGeoDay 2026? It's April 22–23 at the Census Bureau HQ. Make sure to get your tickets ASAP! Registration closes April 19There is no walk-up registration this year.

Meanwhile, the second-ever DC Climate Week (DCCW) will feature lots of events of interest to the SCGIS-DC community. Vivian Griffey mentioned a few in a her recent SCGIS-DC email blast, including the SCGIS-DC happy hour on Thursday, April 23, and events on satellite embeddings and Chesapeake Bay water quality.

What else is in store for DCCW 2026?
First, a bit of shameless self-promotion: I'll be on a panel at Climate & Environmental Data Day on April 21 and co-coordinating a post-Climate & Environmental Data Day Happy Hour. Aimed at driving dialogue on how to keep environmental, satellite, energy and climate data available and useful, both events will be in the Penn Quarter area.

Other events open to the public that folks here might find interesting:
Hope to see some of you all during what's shaping up to be a jam-packed week!
