Study of load current of various types of single-phase loads like: (i) Desktop computers – as a system, monitor and CPU (ii) Fluorescent tube (iii) CFL (iv) Air-conditioner (v) Printer/Scanner, etc. Mention their rating in detail. Comment on their THD values. |

Design and validate single tuned filter to eliminate harmonic(s) for above mentioned loads by simulating above mentioned loads with/without filter in MATLAB. |

Implement designed filter to above mentioned loads and verify it. Comment on THD values based on design of filter and/or other parameters. |

Simulate various control techniques for power factor correction using converters. |

Prepare a report(3-5 pages) showing a list of various types of 3 phase loads, mention their working, their THDi, THDv and effect on power system and suggested remedial measures(you may refer literature or case study, 3 students per group per load) |
