Apps running on a local VM could still escape this sandbox, e.g., via computer memory. Depending on the VM solution in place, they might be volatile instead of persistent, and data is not backed up.
SafeBox isolation adds another layer of protection to the software running in the safebox. SafeBoxes have internet connectivity , but at the same time the only way to access the SafeBox is through the SafeBox portal using the HTML5 WebSocket RDP in-browser client. SafeBoxes cannot be accessed from the internet.
I just bought Bitdefender and part of the reason I did choose this Anti-virus was about the backup feature. I thought it would be a good fit for me. So I install everything and start playing with safebox and quickly got very disapointed. I realized that it is missing a lot of basic features that any backup system should have.
