lineWidth - is it expected to work?

I can't seem to get lineWidth property of the "renderer" to take any
effect. Interestingly, Chrome and Firefox seem to fail a straight
WebGL test on this too: http://alteredqualia.com/tmp/webgl-linewidth-test/

Any ideas? Should I be resorting to building rectangle strips to make
my lines show up wide? Now, that would be zoom variant, so in order
to make it zoom invariant, wouldn't I have to then adjust the strips
with zoom factor changes?...

Summary is that it doesn't really work on windows, but it works on mac & linux.  The reason is the translation layer from OpenGL ES -> DirectX.

Thanks Augusto, this is good to know. I guess I will have to clobber
some workaround together for this.
