Canon Studio Pro Download

Helloeveryone, I have a problem and maybe someone of you can help me to resolve it. I have a new MacBook Pro M1 Max with Mac OSX Ventura installed and the printer Pixma PRO-1. I know is not a recent printer but it still working really good and since I'm not a professional printer I don't want to change it. The problem is the software because Print studio pro doesn't work on OSX Ventura (a message "An error occurred while printing.Memory may be insufficient for printing" appear while I'm trying to print) and Canon Professional Print and Layout does not recognize the printer. At the moment the only option I have is to print directly from photoshop but I have some issue with the profiles.

This is a known problem and has been around since Ventura was released last year, it happens to be when using Lightroom. No fix as yet from either canon or apple. Luckily I brought a new Mac in January which had Monterey loaded so I am using that and print studio pro still works

I had hoped someone would've responded to the lack of compatibility with Photoshop 2023 and Print Studio Pro 2.2.6 now that is available in the US. I am going on 5 months where my Pixma Pro-10 gathers dust due to this issue.

Canon PSP works on my Mac Pro (Intel chip) running Ventura. It does not work on my Mac Book Pro (Apple chip). I am going to try the PSP download from the European site suggested and see if that works.

Thank you for the reply. I'm afraid PSP might indeed need an update because I think I had to use the method in that link after an earlier Photoshop update. I looked at it this time, but unlike Photoshop 2023, I have no folder for Photoshop 2024, so I can't copy the plugin there.

I use print studio pro and today found the updated photoshop 24 had removed the plug in. I just closed photoshop out then went to PSP in applications folder. Click on the the Plug-In Install again. When it asked where you want to install the plug-in just choose the applications folder again and select Photoshop 24 Plug-ins folder and install. After installation reopen Photoshop and hopefully you find it back under automations. It worked for me.

I have about a half dozen plug ins folders. I finally found the one where I needed to copy the plug in into. The plug in does still work, but losing my plugins (and whatever else) because of updates is a frustrating time consuming waste. If it wasn't for camera raw capabilty I would still be using an older non-subscription version of LR and PS. As it is, I'm paying a monthly fee to have my workflow interrupted after updates.

I was able to find the Plug-in Folder and copy the Canon Print Studio Pro files to Photoshop 2024. But they are not showing up anywhere when I open PS. My solution thusfar is to keep a copy of PS 2021 specifically for printing using CPSP, but I realize that will become obsolete at some point.

I was beating my head against a wall on this one, too. I tried moving/renaming plugin folders, installing/uninstalling/reinstalling, yada, yada, yada... the same grief we go through every time that Adobe/Canon updates anything.

Navigate to your Photoshop app (usually /Applications/Adobe Photoshop 2024/Adobe Photoshop 2024.app). Right click; select Get Info. Check the "Open using Rosetta" box. Reopen Photoshop, and suddenly it's magically working.

I concur with this "fix". After installing Photoshop Elements 2024, it was missing the Print Studio Pro (PSP) automation tool, and doing the normal PSP install did not fix it. I had to manually re-install PSP by clicking on PSETUP.EXE in the "C:\Program Files\Canon\Print Studio Pro" folder. It complained that I didn't have a supported version of Photoshop but let me continue anyway. I indicated the proper location for the plugin, in my case it is "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 2024\Plug-Ins". Works fine.

I've been trying to run print studio pro on my mac computer and am currently running Monterey. Not sure what it is, but I am unable to launch PSP through Adobe Photshop 2022. It simply doesn't show up on FILE > AUTOMATE when trying to print from Photoshop. I had it running on an old mac that had Photoshop 2021 with no issues, but since upgraded to a new computer and to the new photoshop 2022, it isn't showing up at all. Any ideas of what i can do to solve this issue? Also, I'm using a PRO-1000 printer.

It turns out that in the Get Info of Photoshop 22 there is a check-box option to open Photoshop in Rosetta. I checked the option and indeed, after a delay during which Rosetta was installed, Photoshop opened and lo & behold Print Studio Pro does appear under automate, along with a PSP Layout Plug-in. After the layout plug-in is opened and the settings saved, then PSP will open normally. That's the good news. The bad news is that the Canon printer profiles do not show up, even with the latest Canon Pro-100 driver (non-Air Print.) This is the case in Mac Photoshop with or without PSP. It is possible to print with Printer Manages Color. Luckily for me, I print my photos from my Windows 10 Dell desktop and not from my MacBook Air and all the profiles are available, allowing me to use Photoshop Manages Color.

Although I do not regularly use Print Studio Pro, as I don't feel it adds to what I can do with Photoshop 2022 alone and the Pro-100 driver, I was successful in loading the plug-in on my Windows 10 computer and it functions normally.

However, on my new MacBook Air M1 with MacOS 12.2 (Monterey), even though I downloaded and manually loaded the most recent PSP correctly into the Photoshop 2022 Plug-ins folder, I also found that it does not appear in the Automate menu and is not shown in "About Plug-ins..." despite several efforts. I really have no explanation for this.

Thanks for the information, John. I don't have any Intel-based applications on my M1 Mac, and therefore have not been "invited" to have Rosetta installed. It can be loaded through Terminal, but I am reluctant to fiddle with my up-to-now perfect M1 Macbook Air, especially since I don't really use PSP and was just curious about the OP's posted problem.

BTW, one of the many oddities in this Forum since the "upgrade" is that my post and your response did not place this thread higher in the list of posts, which supposedly listed by Most Recent at the top. Also, it doesn't seem possible to click directly on the most recent post within a thread.

When you installed Print Studio pro using the install package, it puts the install files necessary into the applications folder (applications/canon utilities). This does NOT install the plugin. To install the Plugin for Lightroom and Photoshop, you need to navigate to applications/canon utilities/Print StudioPro folder and run the Plugin Install application.

However, if you are on a Mac with the M1 architecture, you will NOT find the Canon Print Studio Pro plugin in the menu, because it can't run in native M1 mode. In order for it to even appear in the menu, you need to do the following:

Then when you launch Photoshop, it will launch in Rosetta mode, and the plugin will work. However, you're now running in emulation mode, so Photoshop will run slower. Even launching it I noticed it was magnitudes slower in launching. In native mode PS launches for me in 3 seconds. In Rosetta mode, 30 seconds plus.

For me on LRCC it crashes when I try and run it on my M1 Mabook Pro. On the Mac Studio Ultra I can open PSP, but I can't select any system profiles, only the canned Canon ones. On both machines it won't show up in PS at all unless I'm in Rosetta mode.

I have been using Canon Print Studio Pro (PSP) on my Apple m1 Macbook successfully by running Adobe Photoshop (PS) CC 2023 under Rosetta. This gives the option to run Canon PSP under the Automate menu item.

I have just updated to Ventura and now while the Automate option is still there, after Canon PSP starts, it immediately gives an error ("An error has occurred. Exiting Print Studio Pro.") and shuts down Canon PSP. I have tried going back to Adobe PS 2022 to see if the error exists there and it does whereas again, I was previously able to successfully print from Photoshop using the Canon PSP software, leading me to believe the issue is related to my update to Ventura.

Thanks for the update but it doesn't work on my MacBookPro. PSP starts ok when I invoke the plug-in from LRC 12.1 but it displays this message and shuts down. Wonder if anyone else is experiencing this?

I just got my MacBook with Ventura 13.0.1 and loaded LRC and PSP. It opened (PSP) my first attempt but while using it I got the same error message. Was hoping to see a fix on here. Not sure what to do at this point.

Thanks for this suggestion Tony. I am having same issues with PSP so tried the Professional Print and Layout application/plugin (v1.3.0 Sept 22). Unfortunately this is works only for select canon pro printers but would not recognize my Canon pixma pro-10 model. I checked canon forums and found discussion of issues with PSP in macOS Ventura environment. Also tested Canon PSP in Canon's digital photo profession 4 application and had the same error. (my error message is slightly different: "an error occurred while printing. Memory may be insufficient for printing"). Printing outside of PSP using the application print command is successful so fundamentally the printer/app/macOS are cooperating and PSP is isolated issue.
