Dear All,
Hereby sharing an update on the ongoing Vision Aid Project at our hospital with all of you.....
Low Vision Department started a collaboration with Vision Aid Organization ( Boston,USA ) in Jan 2020 with an objective of serving Special need people of our society. The Mission of the Organization is to enable, educate and empower persons with vision-related disabilities so that they can live a life independently with dignity.
Under this project we started extensive Computer Training Center with a full time instructor Mr Samiullah Ansari. We also provided Mobile Apps Training and many of them underwent Spoken English Programme (SEP). We are happy to share that even during the COVID -19 pandemic when travelling was a challenge for many of us and a bigger challenge for these people, we took up the challenge and provided the training online so that their training does not suffer during these difficult times. This kept them going and prevented many from getting demotivated and depressed. We are however back to our physical training classes now.
We have some very heart touching stories of the beneficiaries where they have shot a video of self and sent to us , applying what they learnt from this center and how it made a change in their lives. Maybe we can share them one day with all of you.
In addition to the training courses we have been providing Low Vision Devices free of cost with the help of the Vision aid fund, to many of our patients who were in desperate need but could not afford to buy them.
We would like to thank each one of you who have been referring your patients to us and giving us an opportunity to counsel and rehabilitate them using various resources.
We would like to thank the entire team of Vision Aid for believing in us and giving us this opportunity to benefit those who need it the most.
We look forward to expanding the services more in future with the most sort after centre of North India coming up at our hospital.
Kindly see some of the pics of the training center attached below …….
Please feel free to contact anyone of us for more details.
