...Waterfowl are soon to leave their winter migration homes here in the south and head north to the Prairie Pothole Region - the  breeding grounds in the Dakotas and Canada, and NOW is the time for us individuals who share a passion in hunting waterfowl to support the spring breeding effort in time for the spring breeding....realizing the fall flight and the 2014 waterfowl season starts in just over 200 days!

The two most significant/effective programs based on science research is Delta Waterfowl's Hen House program - to date over 10,000 HH have been constructed and installed in the breeding grounds in this continent, where research from young grad. students has shown a whooping 80% success rate for mallards, and the Predator Management program - trapping predators such as skunks, coons and red foxes, resulting in 50-60% duck success rates, again far exceeding the 15-20% success rates required to maintain the fall flight.

You can go on-line to Delta Waterfowl to research these and other programs, such as the Adopt a Pothole program.  Of course, DU and revenue from duck stamps assists in the land protection efforts, which is why my personal effort focuses on Hen Houses and Predator Management. (I am still a DU boy, and additionally purchase 2 US duck stamps each year).

Regardless, as with fish or any other wild creature, we as outdoorsmen must lead the way in protecting our outdoor passions if we are to enjoy and pass the endeavor on to America's youth.

Hope you decide to support Delta Waterfowl financially....it is a research based, no bullshit organization that ain't  about banquets, raffles, or high dollar guided duck hunts for the organization's elite who, in large part,  are a bunch of tootie-booters that couldn't kill ducks on their own if their lives depended on it, and who furthermore don't know sheep shit from barn paint, are lost as  Easter eggs at an elementary school egg hunt, and who are fricked up as a soup sandwich at women's club luncheon!

Support Delta Waterfowl...a no bullshit waterfowl organization!
