Fellow Eagles,
>
> My sister has to give up her cat and I’ve found it’s not an easy task to place a cat in a no kill shelter. The cat’s name is Martin, a male approximately 11 or 12 years old. He’s neutered, very laid back and easy to live with. He’s mostly grey with some white and he seems fit.
>
> Would you like a cat to keep you company? Martin needs a new home.
>
> I’ve learned that cat rescues and shelters all sound great on their websites. But the reality when you call them is they won’t accept older cats given the difficulty of getting them adopted. “People want a young cat” is what I keep hearing. They all encourage me to try to find a suitable home amongst friends, neighbors and family.
>
> We have a dog who wouldn’t accept a cat as a housemate. But I know there are plenty of cat lovers and I’m hoping one can adopt Martin. And if you know someone who might welcome a mature cat into their home, feel free to forward this email.
