Fellow Eagles,

The following originated from the group resisting Clublink’s plans to close Sandpiper and develop the land. I’m not sure how many of you are aware of this group known as Save SCC. This group hopes to organize a scramble, likely in February, to raise funds to be used to support efforts to keep our golf courses and green space.

I am going to submit my name as an interested golfer and hope a few more Eagles do the same. You will see our own Peter Hyjek listed as an event planner (thanks Peter). 

Details below.

I know something about this group and their planned activities and might be able to answer questions you may have.

Calling All Golfers, men and women, and their friends!

We are sending this preliminary request to assess the feasibility and interest in a charity golf event sponsored and conducted for the benefit of Save Sun City Center (www.SaveSCC.org) to be held a Saturday, most probably, in February, 2023

 

This Save Sun City Center Golf Scramble Fundraiser will help support Save Sun City Center’s activities and expenses to preserve and protect our SCC golf courses and greenspaces.  This is your chance to support protecting our courses from rezoning and development and enjoy a great round of golf with fellow golfers and friends. 

 

It will also provide an opportunity for local businesses to get behind our resident’s efforts to fight ClubLink’s development plans.

 

There will be awards, prizes and a meal, all for a tournament fee.

 

Please let us know if you and your friends would like to attend so we can gauge the potential number of participants to work out the specifics.  Be part of the effort to preserve our lifestyle and wonderful golf courses and greenspaces and have some fun in the process.

 

Email us at GetIn...@SaveSCC.org with your name and email and the number in your party – whether foursome or other for planning purposes by October 1^st.  Also let us know if you have non-golfers that would just like to attend the meal and awards ceremony. Once we know the potential number of players and attendees, we’ll work out the details and confirm the location, cost and tee times for you to register for the event.
