Folks. Don't forget just because there is a horse race across the
river later in the day, we are still holding our monthly match out at
Silvercreek this Saturday. I hear it will be a very pretty (though
quite warm) day.
Registration opens at 9am. New shooters orientation starts at 9:30
(please arrive early so you can complete your paperwork and report to
the bay in time for the orientation), match should start around 10am.
Of course early arrives are appreciated to help set up the stages and
I am looking for volunteers to be my SOs. If you need directions to
the match, please go to
www.silvercreekcc.org.
Speaking of SOs, I know many of you have expressed an interest in
attending an SO training course. I would be happy to organize another
class, however, due to the "Tiger Team" restructuring the
certification process, if we held a class now, it may mean that you
will need to take another class next year or get recertified. Let me
know if you still want me to put one together. I am thinking some
time in August since most of the class is held indoors. I would
really appreciate some new blood being able to help out at our monthly
matches. I know the regular SOs would appreciate the relief, too.
(Plus....it is possible that we may look into organizing and hosting a
sanctioned match at our club, but we will need a lot more local SO
help in order to do that.) Let's talk about this on Saturday.
Remember SOs working my matches shoot for free!
As for this Saturday's match, match fees are $18 for non-Silvercreek
members and $15 for Silvercreek members. Yes, you will need your
cover garment this month. If you have not shot with us before, you
can shoot once without needing to join IDPA. Second time, you need to
join IDPA ($40 per year). IDPA application forms will be available at
the range and you can join at the match.
OK...see you folks out there. Oh, and happy Cinco de Mare (pun
intended), too.
(BTW, I will have ice water at the match, but it would be helpful to
have you bring your own drinking container.)
See you Saturday,
