Clean Up Australia Day

Dear SCB Brisbane Members,

Did you know that collecting plastic waste near coasts rather than in the oceans is the most effective way to reduce plastic pollution? Help us do just that on Clean Up Australia Day: UQ students and staff and members of the local community are invited to help clear rubbish along the riverbank at St Lucia. Enjoy free pizza and a discussion afterward!

Bring a water bottle and gloves, and make sure you're wearing closed shoes and sun protection. We'll have cold water and gloves for anyone who can't bring their own.

This event is hosted by the UQ Sustainability Office, the Centre of Marine Science, the Society for Conservation Biology UQ Brisbane Chapter, UQ GEMs and the UQ School of Psychology.
