A message from Nancy Natalia Rogene on behalf of SMC Member Producer Diane Wong:

Hi friends

This Saturday, June 19th, I will be co-teaching an online Race Retreat. It will be a powerful experience.

Diane Wong, a visionary black woman who founded the Racial Justice Collaborative, has attended many Worldwork and Processwork seminars.

Diane and I will be sharing our personal stories of how our families were affected by certain racist policies in the United States in their quests for homeownership and financial success. These kinds of personal stories are usually left unspoken; this will be a rare opportunity to peek behind the curtain.

The stories of my white family and Diane's Black family will contrast to demonstrate why median Black family wealth is currently less than 10% of white family wealth in the US. Historical context will be provided by Pharaoh Saunders and Jordana Hart. This retreat includes facilitated break-out groups as we develop our collective muscle in processing internalized racism, healing, and creating a vision for our collective future.

I hope you can make it!
