Somerville Media Center Update - March 27, 2020

Hello SMC Members,
Amidst the COVID-19 declared state of emergency, the role of hyperlocal Community Media is more important than ever. We want to let you know of some of the ways that Somerville Media Center is making sure that the most accurate and timely information is available to the community.
SMC is actively:
Monitoring alerts from federal, state and local authorities and distributing that information via Somerville Community Access TV, Boston Free Radio and social media networks and members groups.
Distributing video updates from the Mayor’s Office, produced by the City’s Communications Department.
Co-producing timely SMC News Alerts and special programming
Distributing timely content as it comes out from sources like Centers for Disease Control, National Institute for Health, Somerville Health and Human Services, Free Speech TV, our partners at the Somerville Journal and other local sources.
We are excited to announce that this week we have gone live simultaneously on SCATV and Facebook Live via Zoom to allow state and city officials and local organizations to directly communicate with the Somerville public and beyond in order to share the most updated information.
As a current producing SMC member, we value your input. If you have your show ready for programming, please follow the instructions in the how to guide set out below.
