Either the FAQ is terrible or..... I followed all recommendations and
still cannot connect. No firewall, IP directly entered, computer can
connect to other computers and printers on network. I'm baffled.

Update, installed GMOTE to see if it would work over the wifi and it
does. GMOTE allows remote control over wifi connections of video and
music on the PC and even allows for limited remote control web
surfing. GMOTE does not control presentations but I used it to test
the connection to see if I had done something wrong or a setting was
off. I'm still not blaming the app but who's going to buy it if the
directions are bunk!

One thing to verify is that the phone is trying to communicate with
the correct IP address. When you start the Player on your computer
(or if it is already running click on the icon in system tray) an
information window pops up. In that window the player lists the IP
address it is listening on. That is the address that needs to be
configured into the phone if you are not using the player search
feature. Also the information window lists the presentation
applications found. You should have either Microsoft Power Point or
Open Office Impress (or both) listed here. Also verify that the player
security is either disabled (any phone can connect) or your phone
number is listed as one of the allowed phones. To do that click right
mouse button on the player icon and click on settings. Click "Any
phone can connect with player" or click "Add" to add your phone number
to the list.
Now on your phone start pitchR, click on menu -> settings. Disable
Search for Player for now and click on Select a Player. Click on Find
Player Displays. The phone will broadcast on your subnet and wait for
response from the player. If for some reason broadcast traffic is not
allowed or not forwarded on your network, it will not find the player.
In that case click on Player IP and enter the Player IP address that
you recorded from the Player information window.
Hope this works for you. If it does not, than please try to post more
information. Thanksf or your patience.

I have tried all of those steps already. It found both powerpoint and
impress and I tried the phone number and ip address listed. I pinged
the phone etc... It's something not listed in the FAQ.

Final Update. After getting off the phone with one of the developers
my phone did an automatic update and the app works perfectly now. The
people from Max4g were great and very responsive. It's possible I
didn't have the cupcake update after doing a factory reset a month
ago. Regardless, it's a great app and the developers are great too!
