Hi Laura,
max4G Player asks Windows for the PowerPoint "PIA" (Primary Interop
Assembly, a dll), and if it's not found Player can't communicate with
it.
I recall that Office 2003 did not install these automatically. You
can check by looking at the list of assemblies in C:/WINDOWS/assembly
- I believe it's called "Microsoft.Office.Interop.SmartTag", version
11.0.0.0. (Office 2007 calls it
"Microsoft.Office.Interop.PowerPoint" and the version is 12.0.0.0.)
If you still have your Office 2003 Installation CD, there is an option
in Setup to add the PIAs. The instruction on Microsoft's website may
help ...
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa195478(office.11).aspx
... but then again, they don't fully support Office 2003 anymore.
Would you be willing to install Office 2007? Or, you might want to
try this installation package from the Microsoft web site:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=3c9a983a-ac14-4125-8ba0-d36d67e0f4ad
Please let me know if this works for you.
Mike
