The 32 bit installer will install on 64 bit Debian if you:

unzip the downloaded zip file
cd to thenewly created sdme32 directory

su
<enter password>
dpkg --add-architecture i386
apt-get update
apt-get install libc6:i386

Then run the nosudo installer while you are still in a root session.

log out and back in
as your normal user, not as root
make a home directory for qm if you want a directory separate from your Linux home directory.
cd to your desired home directory if appropriate
issue the 'qm' command
You will be prompted to create the files necessary in your home directory
Answer 'y'
You will be at the ScarletDME colon prompt

Sorry for all the attempts to get things right.  From now on I will post updates on the ScarletDME 64 forum rather than here.  I just dislike intensely the fact that postings on Google groups can not be edited.

Sweet
This is what I did with the commercial 32bit QM. Exactly.
That's for this.
I am excited!

One thing to keep in mind is that this 32 bit version is still derived from the geneb/ScarletDME dev branch.  It is not the untouched original code from OpenQM GPL released in 2007.  It will install on systems using systemd rather than the inetd that the original release required.  The C code has been modified to compile on either 32 bit or 64 bit systems.

There is a problem with the 32 bit installer.  I will repost after I recompile and test.

I have updated the 32 bit installer. I tested it on a 32 bit spin of Debian 12 that I found here:
It is a 32 bit version of Lilidog Linux (https://www.lilidog.org).  I tested in a Virtualbox VM.
