Just wrote my first little program using the Gambas3 development system and successfully conected to both a local and remote ScarletDME server using qmclilib.so.

I have wanted for a long time to be able to write graphical all-Linux programs (client and server) using a backend opensouce multivalue database and a front end developed in a Basic-like language, and now it is possible.

The newest development version of Gambas3 has the ability to create Appimages within the IDE. So no need to separately install the Gambas runtime and related dependencies.  Really increases the portability of apps developed in Gambas as long as you are on Linux.  My next task, develop an admin console for ScarletDME. That may take a while, but it should be fun!!

Very Interesting, Don!  How do we replicate your setup?

A description of my development setup is now on the https://forum.sdme64.com forum in the Development section.  It is titled "My setup for Gambas3 development".  I am posting it there  because I can edit it as I find new or better ways to do things.  Here, I have to keep posting new entries every time there is a change.  By the way, the project I am developing will probably work fine with commercial QM as well as SDME.  I don't use the commercial version, so there might be some minor changes needed. For example, the commercial version API has more options which would require additional header entries if they are to be used.
