Everything in your life can change. Today, figure out which things are going to.
I see your message is dated April 5 but it wasn't posted on the 7th
when I wrote mine. I guess the moderator was snoozing (or maybe hiding
eggs :-] )

I know you'll enjoy the mountains, but I'd like to invite you to see
more of our state (the Piedmont, the beaches, etc.) The climate in the
mountains will be somewhat different than I experience (usually cooler
in the summer and more snow in the winter)
You're right about the drug and alcohol problems, their prevalent all
across our country. And NC is no exception. My knowledge of addiction
is limited to alcohol but I know we have a problem with "crack,
cocaine, meth and other addictions". I have a nephew who is addicted
to "crack". His Dad (My brother) has been dealing with his problems
for years.
I hope you can bring new programs to our state.
Welcome, again.
Marv
