Maslen Scholarhips for Crystal-33

A reminder that the abstract deadline for the Crystal-33 Conference in Wollongong is 13 December 2019. The conference will be held April 14-17, 2020 and the conference website is at https://www.crystal33.org/
Funding to support attendance at this conference is available for postgraduate students from SCANZ in the form of Maslen Scholarships. The application form is attached. Applications must be signed by the applicant and submitted by email to:

by midnight on January 17, 2020 (in order that applicants can be notified of the outcome before the early-bird registration deadline of February14).
Conditions of the Award of a Maslen Scholarship:
1. The applicant will normally enrolled as a full-time PhD Student at the time of his/her application and will be presenting their research at the meeting either in oral or poster form.
2. Applicants must be a financial member of SCANZ.
3. The applicant’s supervisor will normally have been a financial member of SCANZ for at least 12 months prior to the submission of their application. If the applicant’s supervisor is not a member or has not been a member for the12 months prior then the applicant will normally have been a member for the 12 months prior to the submission.
3. Applications should include a brief (less than 1 page) CV and written evidence of support for the application from his/her supervisor.
4. If a request for travel support is being made, additional information should be provided to this regard (1 or 2 sentences).
5. Support for any student will normally be limited to a maximum of: one overseas conference; one local (Australia or NZ) conference organised by SCANZ; and one local crystallography school organised by SCANZ.
6. All awards are ultimately at the sole discretion of the SCANZ Executive.
