Hi,

I was thinking how to speed up my work in geometric distorsion mode (keystoning) to avoid to many mouse movement.

So I made work-around using autohotkey - I have small numerical keyboard, where I have mapped  buttons 7 (letf upper corner)  8 (right upper corner) 4 (left down corner) 5 (right down corner)  and I have assigned to the mouse scroll and click function to get me fast to zoomed corner.    (exact commands attached).

It greatly speed-up my correction work (left hand is switching the corners, right hand is making correction, however it is still a primitive work-around. (and  mouse position has to be set extra for each monitor resolution - attached there is a mouseposition.apk for checking that.)

I would like to ask, if this feature can be in future added to the this great software directly - by pressing a shortcut (for example space - or it can be set in options)  it will zoom and put mouse position directly on the control point -  and by pressing again just switch to next control point.

So user will be able to faster and precisely make corrections (in almost any option withing Scan Tailor)

Regards,
Milan

That's an interesting idea.

Unfortunately, there is no one currently working on Scan Tailor. I
believe that applies both to the main and experimental branches. I did
some work on Scan Tailor experimental a while ago, but not recently.

Since it looks like you are using Scan Tailor experimental, how do you
find the quality of automatic de-keystoning? By how much do you usually
have to adjust the endpoints?

I have one improvement in mind specifically for automatic de-keystoning.
Unfortunately, I don't feel like working on Scan Tailor these days.

Hi,

Thank you for your response,  actually I'm using a mobile to make pictures, (much faster than ordinary scanner), and due to that I have to make small correction for almost every page. (But I do not complain, the Scan Tailor is superb fast aplication, so better fast manual handling, than poor results from alternative tools).

So just in case there would be any new version in future for this great tool (dream never dies) :) , it would be a great to add this feature for direct jump to zoomed endpoint.

Have a very nice upcoming x-mas days,
M.

Small update - Actually just the jump to the endpoint would be fine - everyone can zoom using mouse if required..

Hi,

I had some time to play with autohotkey,  so I have prepared a little bit more sofisticated work-around :)

Now it use PixelSearch to search the corners for RED dot, click on this dot and zoom...  so by pressing  7 8 4 5 on num keyboard (with numlock off), it goes directly to the control point.

May be it can be usefull for someone :)
