Hi Joseph,
thanks for your swift reply. You can find the re-translated language file here:
http://www.datafilehost.com/d/60406ecbI have shared this translation with a friendly user (actually a close fried who pointed me to Scan Tailor in the first place) to get his feedback, and he did like the translation. Of course, I welcome comments by others and native speakers, as well.
I just downloaded Scan Tailor Experimental and would be happy to adapt my translation to Scan Tailor Experimental, too.
For me, Scan Tailor is extremely useful - I only wish I had discovered it earlier :-).
For the most part, I use Scan Tailor to work on raw scans generated from vintage technical journals. In addition to often poor paper quality and a natural aging-related deterioration, the challenge with these scans is that many pages will contain text and images, and before using Scan Tailor, I had to decide whether to scan these pages in full colour or greyscale mode, or in black and white. Either option did not produce satisfactory results, and I ended up scanning the pages that contained images twice - once in black and white to get a good text rendering, and once in colour to extract the images and insert them into the previously scanned text pages. The results this produced were ok, but the process was incredibly tedious. I use all of Scan Tailor's features, and for me, the ability to generate mixed-type output is one of the most useful features. So for me, finding Scan Tailor was really like hitting a jackpot, and if there is anything I can do to help, I'll gladly volunteer.
Best regards,
Markus Stamm
