We are the convenors of The Long Middle Ages, a postgraduate-run seminar series at the University of Leeds for postgraduates and early career researchers to present on any topic of their research in the Late Antique, Medieval, and Early Modern periods. Please disseminate our newest call for papers to any relevant postgraduates, early career researchers, or mailing lists at your university.

📢We are excited to announce that The Long Middle Ages will be returning for a second series in Autumn 2026!📢

The Long Middle Ages is An interdisciplinary seminar series at the University of Leeds for postgraduate and early career researchers working on the Late Antique, Medieval, and Early Modern periods.

For our second iteration, we will be having our sessions fully online via Teams. We welcome submissions of 30 minute papers from postgraduates and early career researchers working in any discipline and on any topic related to the late antique, medieval and early modern periods.

If you are interested in presenting a seminar, please send an abstract of no more than 250 words as well as a short biography to the organisers (Saaleha Iqbal and Natalie Hopwood) at thelongm...@gmail.com by Monday 17 August 2026.
