The difference is not trivial. The ESET downloads page says that file is version 4.0.90.0 with a filename of eset_nod32av_32bit_en_.linux (file size 83.6 MiB), while the program file I already had in the Downloads directory is eset_nod32av_64bit_en95.linux (file size 103.9 MiB). Which one should I use when reinstalling?

Hello everyone. I have been using eset products for almost a year both at my pc and smart phone. Lately, I've started to experience kind of weird internet connection issues.

Whenever I start to play an online game, upload a file or whenever more than 3 device connects to my internet network, my internet connection would suddenly drops off for 5 to 10 minutes.

One day my desktop rig stopped connecting totally. As a film editor I have to upload/download enormous size of footages and attend to online meetings with production crew about the projects and I was at the middle one of them so I had to solve this issue quickly.

First I contacted to internet provider so they checked all the connections. That costed me almos 4 days but still they could not find anything. The technician suggested that it might be related to a technical failure of my router so I rapidly bought a new vdsl router and set it up.

Interestingly now I was able to connect internet with my phone and laptop but still I couldn't connect via my editing rig. The difference between my editing rig and my laptop was the eset antivirus. So I tried to disable all the protection/firewall/ scans, basically every piece of protection eset provided me. Nothing changed. I have already tried to reset my network properties at the eset guidelines. I also disabled windows 10 firewall in that process and used provided cmd commands by eset guidelines to fix the issue.

At this point I gave up and delete the eset antivirus and guess what? THAT WORKED. Suprisingly, after that I tried to use my old router and still my internet was perfectly fine!

Eset Antivirus was not only blocking my internet but also messing with my router and dropping off whole internet connection for the other devices!

Disabling protocol filtering only gave me a chance to connect internet just before eset starts itself after I reboot my pc. So basically after I reboot my rig if I manage to open my internet browser before eset antivirus starts I was able to connect but once eset's process starts it is gone.

It takes me quite a while to collect and analyze a new set of malware samples, so those necessarily stay the same for months. To check a product's protection against the latest in-the-wild threats, I start with a feed of malware-hosting URLs detected in the last few days by researchers at MRG-Effitas. I launch each URL in turn and note whether the antivirus prevents access to the URL, eliminates the malware payload, or utterly fails to detect any threat.

ESET's suite products add full-blown firewall and network protection, but even the standalone antivirus offers a Host Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS). To see this component in action, I hit the test system with 30 exploits generated by the CORE Impact penetration tool. The HIPS detected and blocked many of these attempts to exploit security vulnerabilities.

Many security suites offer a system cleaner that wipes out junk files and erases traces of your computer and web-surfing history. With NOD32, System Cleaner has a different meaning. Like Webroot's similar feature, it aims to correct and restore system settings malware may have modified. For example, some ransomware replaces your desktop wallpaper with a ransom note, even before attempting encryption behaviors that might trigger an antivirus reaction.

If that doesn't sound like you, consider our Editors' Choice antivirus tools, which pack plenty of more typical security features along with award-winning protection. Bitdefender Antivirus Plus and Kaspersky Anti-Virus consistently earn top scores from the independent testing labs. McAfee AntiVirus Plus doesn't score as high, but it protects every device in your household. Webroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus scores high in our hands-on testing, and it's the tiniest antivirus around.

I've had a similar experience with the last two Windows 10 fast-ring insider builds, although in my case it wasn't all connectivity that was lost, just https connections didn't work until I uninstalled and reinstalled. Maybe related. Maybe not. I don't expect eset to do anything about it in my case since I knowingly opted for the fast ring, so anything that breaks is my responsibility to deal with myself.

the problem started this morning, as soon as i started the computer, but yesterday as i close down the computer windows 10 did do an update, so maybe this is a compatibility issue? still if it is you should look into it becuase the problem will prevent any affected users from getting a fix downloaded without uninstalling nod32 first

Does the problem occur with any browser? And with both http and https websites? If so, enable advanced protocol filtering logging in the advanced setup -> Tools -> Diagnostics, reproduce the issue and then pm me the 2 pcapng files from the Diagnostics folder. Also enclose the output from ESET Log Collector as per the instructions at hxxp://support.eset.com/kb3466/.

I have the same problem in a domain environment with Era server, after about 12:00 on 24 Mar 2016, some users started to complain about no internet access on https sites. Can ping sites etc, so tested it on one pc, after eset is uninstalled pc restarted, the https sites work, when installing again and updating, it is again blocking https sites.

this may mean that ESET antivirus is scanning and blocking, either partially or fully, the operator chat client. To resolve the issue, you need to white list the chat service with ESET. The procedure is simple, see the steps below:
