Note: the Basic version does NOT include a player
You need to use it together with an already installed DirectShow player such as Windows Media Player. For playback issues with WMP please read our F.A.Q. for solutions.
This is the recommended variant for the average user. Use this if you don't know what you need. It already contains everything that you need for playback. The extra components that are included in the larger versions provide no benefit for the majority of users.
Important note:
The K-Lite Codec Pack does not expand the import abilities of professional video editors such as Adobe Premiere or Vegas Movie Studio. Those applications often only support importing a small set of file formats, and do not support using the type of codecs that are included in the codec pack (DirectShow/VFW). Modern editors often only use their own internal codecs or only support external codecs of the Media Foundation type.
I use share links of videos to put on my website and I change the end paramters to "raw=1" to make this happen. All is fine except for the fact that anyone can click the 3 dots and download the video. Is there any option to disable this? This is what I'm talking about: [External link removed to allign with our Community guidelines]
I tried the option to disable downloads in link settings but then the video does not play at all.
Downloads can be disabled for a shared link on dropbox.com or on the Dropbox mobile app, if you are on a Professional or Business Dropbox subscription. Please find all the information for shared link permissions here.

In fact, when you change the ending parameters to "raw=1", you have almost formed a download links! The only difference is missing "content-disposition" in http header. If you embed a link with attribute "download", pointing to your video, it become download link. That's why when you disable downloads, video becomes completely inaccessible (including for play in your site). It still left accessible through the "dl=0" link, but only difference is a disabled download button! There is no secure way to completely prevent downloads. If somebody can see the video on your site, there is always a way to download it. Only thing you can do is to make it difficult, that's it. Dropbox don't provide actual instrumentation to make this secure enough, so be difficult to somebody more experienced than a small child (that isn't a main purpose for this service). In the page describing download disabling is noted:
That's why if you really want to "disable" downloads, have to use some server script (or similar techniques) for "reformatting" the stream in some way and make a download difficult enough. Your decision/solution should depends on target difficility.
Thanks for the reply. I realize anyone can download my video if they really want to. But most people looking at wedding videos won't even bother/want to use external methods to download a video. I just don't like the fact on how obvious Dropbox can notify viewers how easy anyone can just directly download the video. It would be nice like on how Google Drive I can embed videos and there is no direct option to download the video.
Ooohh... If the problems are default browser player options, they could be disabled using different approaches. Overflow the player with a tag, for example, and redirect clicks alternatively to play and pause. No very powerful but simple solution. You can use HTML like following (as idea):
The latest server and the latest windows client on two players. Both players refuse to download the last 12 files needed to update content. The keep getting stuck at 12 files. This seems to happen every time I update the datasets that some of my layouts pull from.
Turns out I needed to open each layout in design and let the dataset load and then commit the layout. for what every reason seems to have fixed the screens. but doing this evetime I change a dataset is going to be painful.
I wonder if these XMR errors have anything to do with it. This is from my thrid player, that has not been reinstalled and was offline till just now. I brought it online thinking it would pull down the latest layouts and start running them, but still, the datasets do not display. so I opened the layouts in design and then recommitted them. This is when I got these errors about XMR. I have seen these a lot as a new player.
Essentially, in our efforts to make the system more scalable, there is more disconnect between editing the data and how that data gets to the player. We will review and discuss how we can improve that.
Every time I debugged, the correct cache was used due to how the process is debugged (manually run). Every time you previewed or loaded into the editor, the correct cache was generated for widgets which are not display specific.
Thank you, that will work. Just FYI, it seems to be affecting the weather updates as well. I am assuming its the same cache issue. Both my weather layouts where tree or four days behind, before I noticed it.

For connecting multiple players to a Mac, as well as designating them as audio output device targets for your supporting DJ software, you will first need to set up an aggregated device.
This can normally be accomplished by using Audio MIDI Setup, a utility which comes bundled with Mac OS X.
We have provided an alternative program called CDJ/XDJ Aggregator, which simplifies this procedure to a single click.
Mac OS users:
You don't have to install this driver software. Mac OS standard driver will be automatically installed when your CDJ/XDJ is connected to your Mac with a USB cable.
I just updated my Macbook Air to Sonoma 14.3. I would like to download VLC Media player as this machine will not play RAM or WMA files. I tried from VLC and a few other sites, but get strange messages. Any hints?
Only download software directly from the developer's official website or mirrors. Downloading apps from anywhere else is very risky since they could have malware in them, or they may also include other apps (either explicitly stated, or most times without any explicit notice).
I just downloaded both the Intel & Apple Silicon Mac versions of VLC from that link and I had no troubles....I even launched those apps without any problem. It really helps if you posted the error messages you received as they may contain clues. Even better, post a screenshot of the error messages, but if they are not in English, then please provide translation of the text. If you can download the .dmg file, then make sure to verify the download has not been corrupted or modified by verifying the SHA256 checksum the developer provides to verify the download is intact. To verify the checksum, you need to use the following command in the Terminal app (this is just a template I'm showing here now.....the "
If you downloaded this file into your Downloads folder, then assuming the file name is still the same as what I just downloaded, then you could just copy & paste the following command depending on whether you download the Intel version or the Apple Silicon version:
Or you can start by typing "shasum -a " making sure to leave at least one space after the "-a ". Then drag & drop the VLC .dmg file from the Finder onto the open Terminal window so that macOS autofills the correct path to the VLC .dmg file (the path will look a bit different from what I've shown here even if the download is within your Downloads folder). Press the "Return" key to submit the command which will produce a long line of seemingly random letters & numbers. This long line of seemingly random letters & numbers is the hash code.
